Late Start

Period 1 Grade 9 Film Arts - room 203 ( next to 202 ) - above main office - no number on the door.

Students are supposed to show rough cut or raw footage of their "Moment of Truth" videos today. Please have Wally or Kirk open the laptop cart -  please have students share the files with each other today. There will be no videotaping or production work.

Students can have 15 minutes to prep, and then have them share their footage on the laptops as the rest of the class watches. Then open the floor for feedback. The students are very familiar with the critique format. This is the link to the production groups.

Period 2 - same classroom

Have students continue to work on their video pre-production. Students can work in the editing suites if the doors are wide open. Students have storyboard, scripts, shot lists and a poster to create and prep for their films.


If students do not have enough to do in either class. They can view this set of films online. (ask Wally or Kirk to set this up.)

Start with video 6 of the AFI film series.



Tuesday November 25

Period 1-
 students worked on editing - shooting and creating posters for their "Moment of Truth" movies.
Students will be showing their raw - rough cut footage to the teacher tomorrow.

Period 3 - Grade 11/12 animation
Micheal and Arad did not  have their work with them
Students are working on their flipbooks - some students will need more pages - ask Kirk where they can purchase more. About half the students showed their process work - the rest must show the work on Friday.

Period 4 - grade 10 FA
Students worked on prep for their story frame film

Students worked on moment - many had footage
reminded students they MUST do at least 70% of editing at school with group
they must use Premier Pro
Talked about conduct and working habits in class - all students must be on track and working at all times - NO HIDING IN EDITING SUITES

Rough cut and raw footage share on Wednesday.

Period 2
Students worked on their story pre-production work.

Continued work on Moment - most groups are shooting this weekend.

Spoke to class about end of class cleanup

Student did card activity - had some difficulty doing so.

Period 1

I introduced scriptwriting format and storyboard format formally

Students then had time to respond to pitch feedback

Students also assigned Team roles. Person at the top of the list is the director.

They are now working on scripts, storyboards and when rough shooting with iPads.

I am staying after school to help student with editing

Guest Cinematographer is coming on Monday - Yale Massey

Period 3
We were in room 204 because of odour - cologne in the classroom
Students are working on their flip books animations
I re-emphasized that this is primarily a character study exercise.

Period 5
Students will continue to work on their treatments and pitch. Pitch will be today or tomorrow

Students prepped for their "moment of truth" pitch which will happen today. Also I will go over their marks to be submitted on Tuesday

Went over marks and they are preparing their pitch for Friday - They will have next class as a makeup work period.

Students worked on their Moment of Truth story. I showed the treatment video - treatment due on Monday - were introduced to Yale Massey showed half of Amal - show rest on Monday
